AdeV,

Indeed!

But there some pics (above) that the thumbnail now is horizontal because I edited the image and rotated it -90º, and so when you click it the resize will show it as I intended to be seen.

I mean I cheated the resize tool in order the pic be shown "right".

See below pic showed with the hint on original, and after in the one edited.

Cheers

Gentles,

More than 150 days,  in 4 mouths, of rain makes everything idle here.

A few roof edge tiles fell down with Martin's storm.

Meanwhile, a few more bits off the Lister CD. All wheels of kart are finally off.

And a new  ;D ;D (2nd hand from 80's) field cultivator to my micro farm.

2 pics to the rant.

Cheers

Hey VP - apologies, I didn't reply to you (been v. busy...)

I think, in order for the thumbnail/main image to display in the same orientation regardless of how you rotate it, you need to make sure you save it without any EXIF data. The EXIF data (which most image editors preserve) tells the display device what orientation the camera was in when you took the photo. So where you've rotated the image, the display device (computer) sees that the EXIF data says "rotate 90", and it rotates it... and now it's "wrong". Equally, I'm not sure that the software that generates the thumbnails for the site honours the EXIF data (I'd actually be surprised if it did), which would explain why the thumbnail is portrait but the image is landscape, or vice versa...

All I can suggest is, when you modify a photo for the site; find & de-select the option to save EXIF data. e.g. for gIMP (the defacto standard Linux image editor), when you export a file, the options dialog that pops up has "Save EXIF data" checked by default - un-check it and the photo will appear how YOU want it, and not how the computer thinks it should be.
Cheers!

Many thanks for your time, and stubbornness (bien entendu!).

The catch is: Before was all ok! why change what was ok? (nº 1 rule of computer science engineering - my humble degree).

But, I can see you are at Linux (was there 20 years ago), so Ill follow your lead. 1st rule here is to share good info with our forum members.

Keep the good work! Covid took us a few Master minds of stationary engines.

Gentles,

The toy is going slowly.

Today managed to drill and tap M5 hole to put a set screw in order to prevent or stop(??) the bearing to spin inside its housing.

Remember I pulled easily the bearing?

Lets see how it goes.

This trick was - once again - one advice of my friend Mr. Pedro, from VEICOMER (https://listerengine.com/smf/index.php?topic=9555.msg111186#msg111186)

A pic to showoff.

Cheers

PS: image without properties still rotate.

Gentles,

Another trick to pull off crank pinion.

Got to make extenders to my ugly puller. It ends perfect as I wanted.

Pulled out woodruff key too.

Now got to take out long head studs that goes from top to bottom.

A few pic to the show.

Cheers

PS: I give up! even pulling out EXIF data, no joy to show the straight pic.

Gentles,

While raining outside and after supper, give a few more kicks in the CD.

Flipped to side, finally toke oil pump off, after that the sump - take a look at that gunk and slurry!

Pull out long head studs and crank after that.

Intermediate gear of oil pump too, and crankcase support brackets.

Almost all stripped. Next task pull off compression operating shaft.

A few pic to showoff.

Cheers
VP

PS: Please can anyone tell me why crank casting date - following Lister's mode of dating cast iron - shows 15JAN1920, but CD only start to be made at 1933.

Gentles,

The CD is almost striped and so some bits already got one hand of primary paint.

In the other hand started to search for some parts: Rocker bushes, crank oil seals, governor bearing.

Made an inquiry about main bush bearings, and valve guides, but nothing so far.

Meanwhile, start to prepare bits and store in baskets.

Push out the crank oil seals, and surprise - at anytime of engine life they put a metric oil seal, hence why they have a wrap of tin foil, because casing is imperial (2.3/8x3.3/8x1/2). But you can see they put in M 60x85x12.

A few pics to the show.

Cheers.

According to my image editor (GIMP - Gnu Image Manipulation Program, on Linux) - the images still have EXIF data in them...

What photo tool are you using to edit them with?

Can't answer your Q on the cast iron date.... maybe they mis-stamped it? But that seems unlikely, somehow. I'm pretty sure the CD doesn't share any castings with older engines.

Cheers!
