new unpleasant squeak on my 6/1
« on: December 06, 2024, 02:31:48 AM »
I swear, I was gone a week and the wife had to run the thing twice while I was gone.  I come back, and now there's a weird squeak!

check this 4 seconds of the sound.

I made the video after changing the oil (it was at it's 100 hour due) and still squeaks.   Any ideas?  Sound seems to be coming from inside... does that mean bearings, and how bad will this be?

I pulled off the belt that runs the alternator and there's still that squeak. How crazy would it be to try to put some lithium grease on the bearings from the inside?

Seems to be in time with the exhaust valve - could it be the lifter, rocker assembly, or even the valve stem itself being a bit dry?
Cheers!
Ade.
