I have a Hawker Siddeley Power Plant generator set which uses a Lister ST3 engine. Plant no.LO3272/01/PB. I have plenty of info on the ST3, which I have pulled apart and reassembled once since I have had it. What I need is some info on the generator. It has two slip rings, which seem to handle the ac coming from the rotor. I have renewed the slip ring brushes, and it worked great for a few starts, and now seems not to give out any pow er, though it shows voltage. I know the most likely problem is a lack of residual magnetism, and it will need flashing, and I’m working out where the field windings are. However, it has an integral battery charger which is a static unit, with its own transformer and rectifier. But there are a couple of IC chips, on which the part numbers are unreadable, and I would appreciate some info on this if anyone has it. The charger board PCB is marked Power Plant 643-003 and looks pretty simple. It would be good to have it working as the external charger I’m using seems to drain the battery if I leave it connected. The original charger board has a relay integral, which I presume disconnects the charger when the generator is not running.
