SR3 in Cape Town
« on: October 10, 2024, 10:30:48 AM »
Hello everyone.

Pete here in Cape Town, on the pointy bit at the bottom.

I'd been looking at getting my hands on a diesel engine for experimentation purposes and one of the lads down at the local said his neighbour on the farm was selling a Lister 3 cylinder. I probably paid too much, but I really like the brand after having had two SR1 generators previously. It's filthy, with a fair amount of rust, but it apparently turns freely with the decompression levers actuated.

I'm pretty sure it's an SR3 (slightly rounded tappet covers) but will be able to confirm when I receive it from the farm.

The one pic I've got shows a nameplate riveted on which says "Sole Agents - Stewarts & Lloyds", who were the agents here in days gone past.

I would please like to ask if anyone can help me with the approximate dimensions for the base mounting holes. I want to make a trolley for it, as I work out of a micro home workshop and need to shift things around on occasion.

Thanks in advance. Pete
