Do you put a pipe into the fuel inlet port and use a square to keep the pump aligned side to side?

i used a square off of the face of the fuel inlet ... but one of the fuel banjo's didn't want to get started so i loosened the fuel pump retaining bolt to get the banjo started then tightened down the retaining bolt ...

it fired up ... have an oil leak that needs fixin ... but ill get to seeing what is what since iv lost my light .. ie, daylight.

i think i need to reduce the rpm set screw next .. i have no idea where its set to but it seemed faster than 1800rpm ...
iv no idea if some one played with it in the past ...
before i try to start, i need to find/fix lube oil leaks ...

im gona need some gaskets ...
valve cover and injector pump door x2 .. and one of those rubber horse shue looking things that goes in the body around the fuel rail .. i couldn't get it back in and the next time i try im thinking im going to tear it ...

oh and the gasket that goes o the speed control ... though i might use some form-a-gasket there ...

who sells in usa or ebay ?

201-10510 is the valve cover .... x4 ,
now to find the pump cover door gasket ( joint ) ...
204-11580 perhaps hard to find .. alternatives?

Other than those 2 company's Gary at diesel electric was about the biggest parts guy in the united states.
But he has not been around for awhile..

The valve cover gaskets are available on ebay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/153244362081

I have bought from that ebay seller before and had no issues. You may try searching in their store with the other part numbers you need. I could not find a whole gasket kit.

Also, I think many gaskets from an LD series will interchange. They are the same engine family with the cylinder bore being the primary difference. The fuel door gaskets may be the same as the LR and SR series as well as those are updated versions of the LD/SL family. Something to look into anyway.

Hummm ... sl3 gaskets ...
I dont think I'll buy 2x SL2 kits ... but if I can't seal it up I might ...
I'm thinking form a gasket on the door/cover set onto glass with some cellophane to keep the form-a-gasket from sticking to the glass

I'll look at my sr2a ... I think the rocker cover are the same but the fuel door escapes me ... didn't have the need to open it up

they are close .. but the doors are slightly different ...

the bolt holes are about 5-7mm off and the door is smaller on the SL than the SR ...

Set down on some cellophane and 3 hrs later it's not cured quite enough .... gona let it set like this for awhile longer, few hours
