Import worth it?
« on: August 31, 2024, 10:59:33 PM »
Folks- I received an inquiry from a Chinese company, regarding export/import of Changfa engines into the USA.

I've been a Listeroid guy for a long time....but, I'm wondering if these diesel engines are worth a try?

What about a 18hp Changfa-oid?  Are the concept of these engines good and strong?  Can they truly pull the weight?  Seems to me....given the claimed horsepower rating, they ought to have a more substantial mounting bracket system?

I'd sure appreciate any guidance!

I currently have 4 of the Changfoids. actually they are all of the XingDong brand. I think 3 1100's and one 1115.  The 1115 is the guinea pig for my chp system that is progress. Well it has been in progress for 5 or 6 years.
From my experience these are reliable, powerful and fuel efficent engines.

There are a bunch of guys here that have changfa 195 and larger.. I do not have experience with those larger one's, but from what I have read here, they most definately can pull there weight.. Also from what I read they are used and abused around the world.. Look pretty easy to rebuild them if/when needed. And parts are fairly easy to get especially for the larger engines..

Probably be expensive to ship a container full of them here tho. As shipping prices have gone thru the roof in the past few years..

If you do decide to order a bunch, I wouldnt mind a R175-R180 type to purchase from you. ;D..

Hope you can pull it off as their is probably still a decent market here in the states for these engines..
If you can get by the supposed ban of these engines here..
