Kirloskar help please!
« on: August 01, 2024, 01:34:26 PM »
We have a Kirloskar engine on a narrowboat - reliably informed it's a 'Lister 3 cylinder copy' but that's about all we can get out of anyone. Anyway - we think we need to replace the head gasket, not urgently but imminently, but are struggling to figure out where to get one.

What we would like to know is:
1. Is it possible to get a KOEL one from *anywhere*
2. If not, what Lister engine *exactly* is it a copy of so we could potentially just go for one of those and hope it fits/works as it should?

Additionally, we're in the UK and while we understand that we might have to get something from outside of the UK, if anyone knows somewhere in the UK that would be great!

Adding a video of the engine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?fbclid=IwY2xjawEYWylleHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHfqen9gRVR7QvP5kI0PLnd15b51FxmAHU99FdmIfkwaVEctYUdhI9j4uLQ_aem_7wz_5SpyeXcQCYivKoUjNw&v=xQlnAlVo6eo&feature=youtu.be

And I'll also attempt to add a picture of the series number plate too.

Thanks in advance and hope!

Have you tried talking with Stationary engine parts in the UK ?  110x110 mm bore and stroke?

I'm not up enough on those to give accurate information but if you contact DEV Precision Engineers in India I'm sure He can source and supply what you need.
