PH2 injector thread
« on: August 03, 2024, 04:15:07 PM »
Hi all,
Thank you for allowing me to join this amazing group.
I a Thwaites alldrive 6000 dumper a month or so ago, it has a PH2 engine in it, i know there were problems with the engine, it really did smoke , it was so bad i couldnt see inside my work shop. Long story short, because i brought it at the right money, i thought i would rebuild this engine, it has has 2 new cylinders, 2 new pistons and rings, new valve stems and valves, i also fitted 2 re-con injectors and 2 new fuel pumps. I intend keeping this machine so thought if i get it right now it will last me out. My problem is, it doesnt have much power, can do about 5mph flat out in top gear, it looks like someone has at one time fitted another gearbox to this machine, We have re-set the spill timing, and it starts easy. I would like to do a compression test on the engine before i go down other roads, my question is, what size thread are the injectors, looking at all the test kits, they all seem to be metric, Where do i buy a tester to fit this engine ?
Thanks
Steve

There is no thread on the injectors as such. The are just slid into the head and clamped in position with a couple of studs and nuts. Just for info all threads on this engine will be imperial sizes.
