LT1 disassembly: could use some guidance on governer

HI, a newbie here.  I'm in Massachusetts, U.S.A. (fyi)   I have I believe an LT1 that has water in the case, maybe in the fuel system but I think it came in the exhaust.  It is 3507078LT1A-30.  I think that makes it an early style LT1.  Anyway, the connecting rod bearing at least needs replacing and I want to look at the two crank bearings.  However, I'm at the point where the workshop manual simply says "remove the governor sleeve, lever and linkage.  I see no retaining hardware for any of the governor items so I don't know how to go further.  Do the posts that hold the governor assembly just pull out? or are they pressed in and the assembly is removed a different way?  Any help is appreciated, Thanks.
