Just wanted to say thank you to chris for sending me the valve guides.. They are about as close as you can get to a replacement C/S guide other than getting the correct one.. My cs 12/2 had less than 8 hours runtime when I purchased it and tore it down.. The valve to guide clearence was extremely sloppy..

I know that stationary engine parts probably gets their guides from India as well, but it is from a good supplier.. The valve to guide clearance on these heads will measure perfectly .. A bit snug, but nothing one quick pass from a hone or reamer would fix.. The way they should be made and allow a builder to custom set his clearance. I am not sure of the valve to guide clearance to run. But as it stands now they can be set to any clearance we chose.  Every other measurement is the same. The biggest difference is where the inner valve spring sits on top of the valve guide.. That top flange is about .030 thicker than the originals. Which may give it a bit more installed seat pressure.. I do not know yet what the stock installed valve seat pressure or height is., as I doubt there is a spec. And Im pretty sure not many have checked what it is. But it can be measured with a springchecking tool..

I am thankful for these guides and will get one more from SEP..

I am also thankful for stationary engine parts and the real quality of these guides. And I also have purchased from them before as well, and thought there stuff was just better then the generic poorly made parts I have purchased from DEV on ebay.. Stationary engine parts  are super helpful people..

Thanks again Chris and Stationary engine parts.

I don't know Keith I guess I could email Steve and see what he says super nice guy though so I'm sure he'll get me an answer I'm glad that they're measuring up. They will last three had on the website so I'm assuming you're going to be waiting for a new batch I did not measure them but if you send me the measurements I can probably make you one from the same cast iron I'm making mine out of once I get this machine up and running I'm probably going to make another set out of silicon bronze I don't know why I didn't do that in the first place also Keith if you're interested in a lathe I happen to have an Old South bend that's not a quick change gearbox that I might part with let me know if you want pictures

I sent Steve at Stationary Engine Parts an email with the question Keith. I also added a couple screen shots of our conversations here. I will advise if he responds. Have a Great Day! Chris

Put new balls in the oil pump and laid it out for Rob at OTE to confirm. He said Good to Go! So i reassemble and test , nice working perfect even the Telltail pops!!

The oil pump video was good.. Hard to tell exactly but it looks like the same type of pump as My cs 12/2 clone.. I bought the replacement spring kit from sep a while back.. I got to get going on my engine and stop slacking off.. Very neat and detailed work you do there chris..

Thanks for passing along what steven at sep said about the guides.. A quick search on meehanite tells me it is a very good type of iron.. Being a quality company, no surprise there that they would use it..  Thank's Keith.

No worries Keith I had to buy a 20 of those balls for the pump so if you need a few let me know they're half inch. Here's a pic of that pump disassembled.

I think I mis-measured my ring gaps, so it has to come apart and be checked.
I'm pretty sure I set these at .003 and they should be .0165.
To be continued.
