Just wanted to say thank you to chris for sending me the valve guides.. They are about as close as you can get to a replacement C/S guide other than getting the correct one.. My cs 12/2 had less than 8 hours runtime when I purchased it and tore it down.. The valve to guide clearence was extremely sloppy..
I know that stationary engine parts probably gets their guides from India as well, but it is from a good supplier.. The valve to guide clearance on these heads will measure perfectly .. A bit snug, but nothing one quick pass from a hone or reamer would fix.. The way they should be made and allow a builder to custom set his clearance. I am not sure of the valve to guide clearance to run. But as it stands now they can be set to any clearance we chose. Every other measurement is the same. The biggest difference is where the inner valve spring sits on top of the valve guide.. That top flange is about .030 thicker than the originals. Which may give it a bit more installed seat pressure.. I do not know yet what the stock installed valve seat pressure or height is., as I doubt there is a spec. And Im pretty sure not many have checked what it is. But it can be measured with a springchecking tool..
I am thankful for these guides and will get one more from SEP..
I am also thankful for stationary engine parts and the real quality of these guides. And I also have purchased from them before as well, and thought there stuff was just better then the generic poorly made parts I have purchased from DEV on ebay.. Stationary engine parts are super helpful people..
Thanks again Chris and Stationary engine parts.
