Hi Bent Trigger, yes there is a lot of internal dirt shown in your photos. There is a product called flushing oil which will remove most of it without a complete disassembly. Get the unit running and then drain out the oil. Replace the oil with flushing oil, run the engine up to normal working temperature (probably around a half hour run but follow the instructions on the tin), drain out the flushing oil and replace with regular oil. Do not throw out the flushing oil, let it settle and it can be reused.

Here's the first paint sample code. The running list is exact to this sprayout. The upper number is very close.

Also cleaning a lot of nuts and bolts and got a coat of green on the block and some other stuff. Another coat tomorrow and I can move on to the cylinders and some small things for the next step. And start the assembly. So far only found 2 broken spring washers.

SmokStak is Back!
There is a bolt between the cylinders over the cam that is about 2.5" long. It pins the center cam guide. When the bolt is removed the center cam guide(MY Word For IT) being larger than the oil pump eccentric will allow easy removal of the cam towards the drive/governor weight end!

I dont know what the silver lister paint was.. Get the inside clean and oil free and Use white 2 part epoxy primer/sealer, and never think about it again..

So I take your advice Keith finish cleaning looks like I missed a couple of spots but I think we'll be okay and my first coat of white inside of it. Tomorrow one more coat and then I got start assembly as I finally learned how to make gaskets they're not great but cheap and I have them.pics

So I Have been Painting the inside and while it's drying I decided to start cleaning up the cylinders. I took my DA sander to the machined faces and got those pretty nice. Then started to clean the intake and exhaust ports. NicE! There was one valve guide that was not so nice!! The valve must have been rotted thru so they cut the Guide and welded it to the valve stem to cover the rot. So there was no valve guide, It was Now a valve Cycling in/on the L Head Guide Hole!!! WTF!!! Any Hoo, Gonna have to have a new Guide made and talk to Rob at OTE, (my latest purchase just landed in the USA). So because I am ANAL, I'll buy all 4 valves and have all 4 guides replaced and See if Rob can come up with a New Set of Springs. I cant Find the BSPP Plugs either. They are everywhere in the World BUT not the USA!! And I need 4 BSPP close nips for the water System. I Found a Water pump (Thanks Sunnybrook) that I think I can Make work With the Titan Radiator. Its Gonna be pretty cool if I can Pull It Off!! Also the Wick style oiler for the Cam cover need to be replace Unless someone can show me how to rebuild it!

Give Mcmaster-Carr a try for the BSP and BSPP stuff. It may take some digging but they do have some stuff.

1" BSPP shoulder nips 4 pcs
1"BSPP Flanged Plug
Both in brass
I think I orders the plugs from Rob, but I'm not sure if they were BSP or BSPP.
