Looking to find some information on an engine.
« on: September 24, 2023, 12:53:44 AM »
I'm posting this for my father who has an uncanny ability to end up with odd things.

He's had this Lister-Blackstone engine for several years, and used it as a bit of an exhibit at engine shows. He has a generator attached that he would use to charge his fifth wheel while at the few shows he went to.

The only real history I know is that it came from a tugboat that was on the great lakes, perhaps at one time was also ocean going. It was used for electrical power. He's looking to sell it, and just doesn't know what its value may be.
Any information is appreciated

Welcome!

I can't help you with the valuation (a CE engine would normally go for a decent price in the UK, just because of the rarity value, although they come up so infrequently it's hard to gauge a price). I'd say they're worth more than a CS (the "normal" Lister engine), but you're not going to retire on the proceeds.

There's a bit of info about Lister-Blackstone Inc. here: https://listerengine.com/smf/index.php?topic=1603.0 (towards the bottom). Unfortunately, the link is no longer available (Peter, the guy posting that info, died a few years ago & his website went offline shortly afterwards).
Cheers!
Ade.
