How big of a gen head can a LT1 manage?

My Lister LT1 is going to be to heavy for what I had planned to use it for.  So now I either sell/trade it off or use it for something.  Can these run a decent size 120v AC gen head without having to run at full RPM(which would be as noisy as my gas gen set).  I know they are not a CS engine with slow rpm, but what are the LT1's able to manage being a small diesel?   Thanks  Mike

The Lt1 is rated from 2.5hp @ 1000 rpm to 7.5hp @ 3000 rpm. At 1800 rpm it is rated for 4.8 hp and would get you right around 2400 watts with a decently efficient gen head. What is the build number on the data tag? That will narrow down what rating lister built it for.

If you decide to let it go I would be interested. I am over in VA.

According to the manual the A30 build is an anti-clockwise variable speed(1000-3000 rpm governor) build with factory speed set at 2200 rpm. It is rated for ~6 hp at that speed which would net you about 3kw max from a generator. Being a variable speed build you can adjust it up or down but it will be in the range of a 1250-3750 watt generalor depending on what speed you run it.

You have an anti clockwise LT1 engine. It was manufactured in 1980 and is a build 22. The output of the engine is speed related, so the slower you run it the Lees power it will give.
