Lister Junior Flywheels
« on: July 25, 2023, 01:38:26 PM »
Hi Everybody,

Long time ago I bought a Lister A type twin flywheel junior engine in bits.  It's now time to fit the flywheels.  They are both exactly the same (casting No 2/474).  The rims are thicker between the two spokes opposite the key-ways in the hubs.  I assume this is to balance the crankshaft and connecting rod assembly.

With both fitted (say left and right), the weights in the rim are opposite the big end.  With them fitted the other way, the  weights are on the same side as the big end.

Can anybody confirm how they should be fitted?

Regards to all,

Len

Also measure the opening of the keyway as there should be  a slight difference from inside to outside because of the taper of the gibb head key.
