it was a bit of a struggle to dig into my archives back 10 years ago
but i found what i needed, and with the help of the tech support at enom.com
and the founder of the forum, thanks Troy for all your help to get this issue resolved!

i still have a loose end to tie up, but will be working to get that done so that this issue doesn't happen
again.

sorry for the inconvenience folks!

and thanks to Ade for all the work he has done and continues to do to keep this place running.

And AdeV, thanks for everything you’ve done in supplying the info. Without the info it would of been very hard or nearly impossible to make it happen.

Hey, no problem guys! Fortunately, the hosting plan we're on will not expire even if the domain name glitches... However, it does occur to me that if the worst happens and I'm incapacitated or worse, that would threaten the existence of the forum: So, I'll work with Bob on that to make sure he (as the owner) has full access & sufficient instructions that he can either move it himself, or get a techie to do it for him, should I shuffle off this mortal coil before my scheduled time - and since I plan to live forever, that should be a good few years away yet  ;D
Cheers!
Ade.

Hi Gentles, Bob and Ade V

This was a scheduled event. Of course "someone" has to pay domain name, and make backups, maintenance, grant new members.... you name it!

A few days ago I print to pdf my 2 threads, just in case... it crossed my mind the disaster it happened to Peter Forbes (RIP) site. Countless houres and years of collected info desapear by night!

In the same way all info of Guru Butch gone away - just because!

For what it worth, my threads have some junk replys in order to never raise to the WOK (its dangerous to be in WOK!), because im one more guy that make palmatory stupid things, and is trying to prove that the square wheel will spin same way as round.

Bob & Ade, dont let this thing go down. There is too much usefull info to let it go away.

Cheers
VP

this forum or for that matter the sister forum are not going away as far as i am concerned.
and i am sure Ade has no intentions of letting things go either.

i simply have to lace up a loose end with Andrew, with the domain name registration
and get it transferred over to me, then i will be getting notices and be able to keep the domain paid on time.

also i am sure that Ade has been doing the backups on the LEF, the microcogen forum i had an issue with backups a while back but was able to get a more current backup done a while back.

as long as there remains interest in either or both forums, then it is my intention to keep them both up and running. this is not to say that there might be glitches from time to time, but i think in the end all will be well and good.

sorry for the inconvenience and the scare guys.

Well done Bob G and thanks for saving this great site. When I first saw the new page I thought the site was hijacked and did not try to proceed to follow the prompts. Very glad your back.

Yup, I'll add my thanks to those tinkerers under the hood.

Just an Idea but I would be happy to download/backup a monthly rsync of the db if that's any use? I know your server/host probably keeps backups but another layer of redundancy never hurts.
