(Note special fiber cellulose friction material used for engine loading)

In this longer video, the refurbishment Lab can be seen in action. (Note specially cushioned sand lined floors in the 'clean room')

And see the special sand applied during liner installation at 3:18

I weep, seeing the repair techniques

Can you imagine what the bottom bore of that block looks like after banging that punch into it to knock the liner out? The bottom Oring ought to seal nicely now,😆😆

Re: refurbishment video

Cringe ! ! !
Apparently S.O.P. I have watched similar videos repairing the Indian made Royal Enfield motorcycles.....engine rebuild at the roadside, for example.  Same techniques. Parts are cheap.
Most amazing is that after all the abuse, it starts easily and runs OK.
Shows how tough these engines are.
Indians may not have much to work with, but they are resourceful.
Appropriate technology.

Cheers

When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a Listeroid

Reminds me of a friend who's favorite tool is a hamer.

I watched a video of a man doing a rebuild of a ST generator head with the same technique. May
have been the same crew.

We might be missing something by not adding all that sand with our own jobs ! It would be easy for
me I live in Florida. If anyone needs a couple of pounds of sand let me know I'll ship you some !
(If you have a Listeroid you should have plenty in the cranlkcase)
