Lister SR3 stop lever is stuck

Hi

This is my first post on this forum so please forgive any errors

My Lister SR3 generator has been running perfectly for 10 years in its place apart from general service and the odd running out of fuel hard to prime and restart.

But now for some reason, the stop lever has jammed in the off position and will not move (hope stop lever is understandable)

I have tried lots of things to unjam it but nothing helps. Of course, the engine won't start. Any advice would be welcome

Has it been some time since the engine has been started? I had the same thing happen to a model LD and the pump rack was stuck.
