HB3 block
« on: October 07, 2020, 09:51:22 PM »
Hi, after a bit of advice please. I need to replace a cylinder block but I see there are two choices for the hb engine, ones up to 2000, the other 2200rpm. Does anyone know what the difference is and if there is an identification mark on them...

It's highly unlikely there'll be a difference in the blocks. It's probably just the governor springs/weights which are different between the two engines. e.g. the LD1 engines have all kinds of speed ratings, but they're all basically identical.
Cheers!
Ade.

I have a HB2 and a HB3 engines plus an original manual for HA and HB 2 & 3 cylinders with parts list. The part number for the crankcase does not differentiate between HB and HA engines i.e. it is same for both engines.
