shot slip rings
« on: July 24, 2020, 07:22:31 PM »
gee, i just noticed the slip rings on my st head are severely worn given the hours on it. when i bought it i aligned the brushes (4) and all seemed well but i didnt notice the composition of the brushes.
It seems the brushes are made from aluminum oxide and pot metal. HA.
I think some carbon style brushes would be fine. anyone agree?

sounds like the brushes are too hard.   http://www.cortela.com.au/product.asp?id=55  this gives a bit of a story about them.
