PETTERS UNIVERSAL "M" TYPE OIL ENGINE
« on: December 11, 2019, 03:16:27 AM »
Just in receipt of the above engine which states on the name plate NEW MODELNo 11636 , 1 1/2 BHP @ 750 RPM . Does anyone have any information on this type of engine ? Also any information on its operation ? It has quite a different carby and fuel set up in general and not sure how to go about rebuilding it. Ideally a  manual would assist ! Where would one obtain same?
This model was apparently known as an Appletop, because of the cooling water tank on top of the cylinder which was spherical.

@ magneto man
Try here for a start, Looks like your engine dates back to 1923 to 1931
