I also notice your engine has a proper alternator. Mine has a permanent magnet generator which is OK but I think only 14 A.  I want to put on a decent one like yours.

Yes, the air intake noise is quite noticeable.
Swapping to a larger canister would be a good idea.

Mine came with a mini alternator instead of a PM generator. It was seized and rusty so I swapped it with a 96 amp General Motors 12SI that I had sitting around. Thankfully Kubota uses the industry standard mounting bracket and the new alternator dropped in without any modification.
