That's a $25 engine around here.  Parts are very expensive for the real deal and the Indian parts for them are not worth installing in my experience.  I just passed on a good runner offered to me  at $500.

Looking at the oil filter arrangements it is an early SR1 engine.

Quite possibly from a Smalley 425 walking excavator. Not worth that price IMHO as too many missing parts, however the missing parts could be acquired from the less desirable LR1 engines that were widely used on cement mixers if your really keen.

Thanks guys. I was mildly attracted to it because it has more horsepower than the SL1 and has a place to add a starter, flimsy reasons I know! I think I will let it be someone elses trouble
