Thanks for asking:  I just spoke to my wife and she reports we're only suffering earthquakes on the West side of the Big Island.  I want to be there on the front but my family estate in South Seattle needs me at this time.  ;~)  The East side of the island is pretty jumpy as there is lava on top of the ground and the earth is moving with greater vigor than we realize 70+ miles away.

Back to topic:  I thought the breaking in of his quickie overhaul was pretty interesting.  I am wondering how long it took this experienced hand to get the unit running?  I'm wondering what tasks that engine was designed to address?

I was watching him pretty closely... definitely an experienced Lister hand. Unfortunately it did not show anything at all to do with the fuel-injection system (unless I missed it), and that is where a very large amount of trouble resides in a unit that has been left idle for long periods.

Who is this guy and what is his secret? He managed to strip and get that old engine running without getting his hands dirty! Hat off to him for a great video.

I have watched most of Stephen Hanglands' videos. He made a very nice belt drive generator from a single bearing alternator. I don't know if he is a professional restorer or a handy guy in a shed. I also liked his lawn mower generator [urlhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Se6ceGegUYQ][/url]

Wow.  I hope that wasn't the easy way to make a alternator based generator.

Thats obviously not the lawnmower generator but it's well done if maybe a little over engineered. I thought the carrier bearing was maybe not needed ?? Still I'd like to spend the day in his shed watching him I might learn something!
