TR2 pistons and cylinders replacement

Hi all

Thanks for letting me join,

I'm in need of a little advice.
I'm currently replacing the pistons and cylinders on a TR2.

The top of the old cylinders are flat but the new ones have a lip,
The gasket set supplied have the same flat shims that have come out.

Am I okay to still shim them at the top of do I need to be looking for
Different shim's and adjust them at the bottom,
