Original Lister CS w/ tanks - Diesel 6HP 650RPM Year 1939 - For SALE

Good evening everyone!

I'm selling an original Lister CS Stationary Engine, bought in 1939 and since then until '00 was used to power a Olive Press.
The engine isn't attached to the press anymore, but it's still working 100%.

The diesel and cooling tanks as well as any other parts, are included.
The engine and all parts are located in Portugal.

I have an album of pictures I took recently and a video of the engine starting and working as well.

I have a listing on eBay, with a Buy Now price fixed at $5000 - used as a "roof" - and a symbolic shipping price of 1$ - this price will be dealt depending on the buyer's location.

I'm open to any offer.
The only real offer I've got so far was $1500 + shipping price to a freight terminal of Kansas City.

Wow, they must be a REALLY hard thing to come by in Portugal with every 2nd person there trying to buy one.

I didn't want to list it as a Auction on eBay and my intention was to see how much interest / offers it can gather, as I didn't have experience on this selling market.

The $5000 price tag on eBay for the Buy Now is to be able to receive offers below that value, this is, without risking some one buying it at once if I had a cheaper price tag.

It's the second month the engine is listed on eBay, the 1st month received 800+ views, 3 contacts and 1 offer.

This only offer I got was $1500 for the Engine, without the fuel tank, plus the shipping price to be defined, paid by the buyer as well.

One of the reasons I didn't want to Auction it is because I don't have that experience with that selling type on eBay, and thought Buy Now was simpler on the beginning, to get to know the market and the offers I'd got.

I'm actually mediating this for a friend.
The engine has emotional value for him and he'd only sell it for a good amount of money.

That price tag was to serve as a "roof", and I'll actually remove it from the post and state the latest offer I got was $1500 plus shipping, in order to avoid confusion.

And since shipping will depend on the buyer's location, I think it's better listed as a Buy Now rather than an Auction, at eBay.

How much are you hoping to get? $1500 is a good offer. There are SOM setups(heavy flywheel CS with generator) on Ebay for £700-800 obo and spoked flywheel versions like what you have listed for less than that.

But are those original Lister CS engines which date of 1939, and still working?
Couldn't find those listings you mention, would you put them here or send me?

I love it.  Would that be on the National Bank of Romania?  I've got two Nigerian Credit Union ones I'll trade you but I'll need $3200 USD to get the Supreme Court to release the funds?  I'm shipping out for a two year posting in Iraq or I'd stop by myself so I'll have to have you send the money to Western Union cash transfer.

I've just searched for that, and most listings are for Lister Generators and Lister Marine with turbo, much more recent engines than what I'm selling.

I'm selling a 100% Working engine that dates from before the World War 2...
I think that does hold much more collectible value than a more powerful recent Lister unit.

I'm only 9 hours drive across the mountains from this fine machine, If anyone has any real interest in it I'll happily jump in the Land Rover and give it a good thick coat of looking at for the cost of a few tanks of diesel and a couple of nights in a decent hotel.

Your`e doing the right thing,   using the greedy Ebay   (in the UK they operate from a tax haven)  platform as an advertising medium,   with this method you should filter out the many bidding idiots out there to whom buying and not completing is a sport.   

I`ve given up replying to the opinionated people who wish to remind me that there`s one in Kazakistan, Nigeria, next door et al,  cheaper than the item I`m selling,   the reason they don`t take their money and unasked for opinion where its needed, is because talk is cheap.

That`s my little self opinionated rant over and good luck with the sale.
