Lister TR3 How To Remove Injectors
« on: October 01, 2017, 07:45:47 AM »
Good morning wonderful people. I have to get my injectors serviced and repaired only I can't get them out. I have taken the head off of the first one but this still doesn't seem to make it any easier.  :-\ Any advice would be massively appreciated. Thanx.    :D

Its easier to have the engine running.....
With engine hot and running loosen the fixing clamps on each injector, they should loosen with compression and get covered in diesel spray, blowing out any crap from around the hole. With engine stopped, remove the injector pipes and by turning and pulling  they should release. This works well on CS and AV models too

Since you have the heads off, you can put them in a vise and the use the long nut extension of injector line itself as a sort of handle to start a bit of rotation. Once you can get the injector to rotate a bit, you can work it back and forth until all the carbon is loosened and you can pull the injector out by hand. A little heat applied to the head can also help in the process.

Next time, remove injectors before pulling heads.
