A 12/1 would be quite a "thumper"! It's been several years since I have even heard mention of one, anybody remember who built that reiteration?

Ron, They are/were available from several sources. Most that I am aware of are standard CS stroke but there was at least one that had a longer stroke. There are also several variations of bore and rpm and both DI and IDI.  Anyone needing internal parts for one needs to have all pertinent info at hand because "12/1" doesn't describe it well enough to guaranty the correct parts.

Some of them - especially 10/1 flavor, were simply 8/1 designs revved to 1000rpm. Not recommended! If they modified bore and stroke to achieve 12 hp at low rpm, that is a much better design. Our 18/1 units for instance are rated at 750rpm and extra hp achieved by both bore and stroke enhancements to get a lot more displacement. Personally, I have not dealt with anything described as a 12/1.

Someone did that sometime ago, IIRC used a VW 1.4 liter turbodiesel turbo on it. maybe George B. had it on his site at one time

I recall that turbo'd Listeroid also- I think it was a Canadian owner in Quebec province. Needed just bit more power for his off grid setup.

That is one of our 18/1 units - 750 rpm. Boost is better than expected but still pulses quite a bit with each exhaust/inlet stroke.

I had a blower for an old 1.2 or 1.4 liter aircooled VW, ran a single "B" series belt, couldn't have made over 5 lbs manifold pressure.
With a properly sized plenum, that would be ideal for a "roid. And that's where my never get rid of anything gene rears it's ugly head and bites me. I got rid of it.

A common smog pump might work as a blower.

A smog pump will work as a blower! Unfortunately a 'roid's displacement is a little large for a smog pump, I think. But I could be wrong, have to give it a try to be sure. They will however, pressurize the "tar" out of a briggs and stratton.
