Hi

I am from South Africa and are busy restoring a SR1 and also want to power a 2.6 kva alternator that needs to run at 3000 rpm.

What is the maximum rpm a SR1 can be run at?
I have searched and saw some reference to 2500 rpm but then would have to run a smaller pulley on the alternator.

Thanks

Pieter

Please refer to my other reply to your question about pulleys. The SR can be run up to 2500rpm but will be a much nicer machine when run at around 1500rpm. The power output will still be in a very efficient and useable range at the lower speed and most genset builds use the lower speed with a 4-pole head to achieve 50Hz, direct-drive.
