Remember that age is just a number, Youth is an attitude. I know, - easier said than done when the physical frame is gradually wearing out and we are slowing down. We just have to make up for, in wisdom, what we once accomplished in speed.

We are only as old as we feel...well, thats what they keep telling me.  I should have taken better care of myself when I was younger...HA!
You still have plenty of prime years to go!     Old age age and treachery beat out youth and enthusiasm most of the time.

Congratulations on finally getting your hands on a twin cylinder CS (I know you had been looking for some time). I will look forward to a well documented forum thread on its restoration.

As an early engine, you may not have chrome plated cylinder bores, and will have 2.1/4" diameter big end journals [ Assuming the engine still has the the original crank, and is a genuine 10/2, not a later 12/2 that has the RPM setting reduced from 650 to 500].

If you don't mind me asking. What was the engine that you part exchanged for the CS twin?

Sorry to rain on your parade Butch, but looking at the Lister CS production figures that I have access to (which were originally compiled by David Harris) 10/2 production had ceased by the end of 1933 [with a total production of 2115 engines, which makes it the second rarest CS, after the CS 3/1 engine]. So its quite possible that you have a 12/2 that has been down rated to 10 HP.

1937 looks fine, all Cold Start 5/1, 6/1, 10/2 and 12/2 numbers ran together, there is no separate list.

The factory shipped out 5/1 or 6/1 and 10/2 or 12/2 according to customer needs, they were the same engines, just different RPM.

I think these twins are the most wonderful of the Lister engines.  It's being owned and taken care of by someone that respects it is just plain justice.
