Direction of rotation
« on: June 09, 2020, 06:43:48 PM »
Evening to you all and thanks for accepting me on here.

Can anyone advise me how to change DOR on a PH2?

Is it as simple as a camshaft and starter swap?

Thanks very much,

Jez

In a word No.

You will also need a reverse rotation oil pump, and a different flywheel cowling.

If you contact Jim Perkins an expert on the PH engine range
 http://www.petterengines.co.uk/

He may have the parts you require

Hi Jrc

I think you want to "make pass a oil tanker in the thames river at Teddington"

1st, yes Jim Perkins is (by now) the most reliable (and the most honest) British I met!

2nd, you can get reverse power, or as we say PTO (power take off) by putting the extended shaft attached in the crank gear, instead of cam gear.

As far as my Petter studies reaches, I didn't find, so far, any reverse Petter, but.... we never know!

Just my 5 cents!

PS: My apologies I found one vid with a reverse rotation, see here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RHnfOdF6q_Q

PS2: and I also find a moron: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=br7dalliJZk
