Lot 1 even comes with the desirably named FuKing ST generator.

I expect there's a story there.  Dumping three of them on the market at the same time seems sub-optimal from a pecuniary standpoint.

Possibly so, the seller does say they were to be used in a gov't research project, they did not pay.......
They are older engines, seems there were more QC issues then ("over 10 years ago...").  I am sure you better acquainted with that than I am, Quinn, having done some nice documented tear-down/inspection/reassembly work. However, seems like good bet for a buyer given the spares included and the unobtanium factor in the U.S.
I am in Canada, and we can still get complete engines from reputable dealers, and parts too. Jim Calder has been a great source of parts @ reasonable cost for me, even those parts he does not stock.
BTW, finally am to the point where I can start reassembly of my Dursley 6/1......  The JKSON is charging batteries right now......no sun today.
Cheers
Hugh

I'll be honest.  I will be bidding on at least one of these.  I will take the crank, roller bearing assemblies and the best working parts from it (it would have to be torn down for cleaning anyway) and graft them into the Lister 8/1 engine that I purchased during the container shipping load.

Maybe I'll end up with a good runner using the best Dursley parts I can salvage from this stupid expensive mess I started 5 years ago....

I will be selling my Witte CD-12 and ST-10 head as it is just too much engine for my needs...

My Metro 6/1 is from that same time frame, same importer, in it's original crate.  Casting sand and heavy black grease mixture,  a big gob under the piston crown, don't forget to look for it, you have to remove the crank from the piston to see it.  An FU message from Rajkot, I guess.  The only other non-standard problem was a misbored conrod that had to be replaced.  Most of the standard problems were present.  These warrant a full scale tear down, but mine is providing good service now.  I'm sure their are plenty of surprises in all product labels from Rajkot.

The Metro's are splash lube only, no lower sump for settling, so I added a big door gravity feed bypass filter.

Of the Indian Lister clones I have owned or had through the shop I have only seen two types. Those that needed to be taken down and gone through to clean and assemble correctlly

and those that should have been taken down, cleaned and assembled correctly :(     if you get my drift?

Not saying that India has never shipped a clean and correct engine, just that I have never personally seen one. That being said if I didn't already have an assortment of them I would be following those auctions, Good luck if your bidding!

Thanks for mentioning it, Hugh.  Didn't think anyone remembered that.

Geez, almost makes me think about putting the Beta Test engine up for sale.  Hasn't been run since I finished the reassembly.  But it's so pretty.  I keep thinking it'd look great in a corner of the living room.

Looks like the someone just spent $6870 buying the 1st and 3rd lots. Wondering if they will be relisted by the original seller, second chance offered, or listed up by the buyer in a week for a higher price.
