Lister LD1

Greetings from an engine newbie. I have been lurking for a while digesting much of the usefull info avauilable here. I have been quite tempted to purchase a Petteroid to use as  power generation for my workshop. However, a recent Ebay impulse has made me the proud new owner of a Lister LD1 air cooled 5 HP diesel. I managed to purchase this for the bargain price of £48, about $90. Does anyone know much about these? The serial No is 11753LD/15 or 115. 

So far it has resisted all attempts to start, so we are stripping and cleaning the tank, fuel lines and all filters. I will post a picture of it shortly.

I'm thinking it's a 1965 model? I've got one too, but it's been at a  friends house for the last ten years untouched, I think mine came from a cement mixer.
