lister petter ac1/ad1
« on: March 17, 2014, 07:49:19 PM »
hi i have 3, single cylinder lister engines i was going to use one for my boat.
ac1 series 1
ac1 series 2
ad1 direct injection
ok i chose the ad1 7.5 hp however when started it vibrates quite a lot. so i fitted the ac1 series 2 which is smooth and has only a small amount of vibration and just 1 hp less
my question is why the big difference in vibration. there seems to be very little difference on the out side. ??? ??? thanks in advance. garry.

hi guys i have been informed that the lister ac1 was designed to be used as a marine engine. the ad1 was not because it vibrates quite a bit
i still do not understand why. any ideas guys.

Hard to say, my sampling of that engine series is small. I do know that Lister had no lock on building smooth running engines. I have models SL1, LD1 and D in my personal collection and all of them are severe vibrators at anything over idle revs. I watch you tube vids of other of same models and they are fairly smooth? Maybe they sent all the junk out of the country? LOL ;D
Collector and horder of about anything diesel
