                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            Glort,  these type of filters were  (for one application I know of)  fitted to the radiator cooled CS engines as installed in Stothart & Pitt self loading concrete mixers, presumably necessary due to the very dusty working conditions.

38ac, thanks for sharing this info, it will certainly save me a lot of info mining, I`ve a couple of engines with this style of filter fitted.
