Correct starter???
« on: April 11, 2013, 12:04:37 PM »
So after some research, i believe i have found the correct starter for my Lister SR2.  Can someone on here maybe confirm that this is right?  Here are the markings on my current starter:

Lucas
26157K
M45G
DA143

this is the starter I believe fits my application.  Any help is greatly appreciated, or if anyone knows of another location, preferably canadian that sells the correct part wouls also be appreciated!

regards
jamie

If you can still find one of those Auto Elec shops where the guy who runs it owns it, there is nothing in a M45G starter that can't be rebuilt or replaced. Good luck,   Combustor.
Toys include- Lister CS 8/1, Lister VA SOM plant and some Aussie engines.

Engine rotation is the main variable that needs to be identified. A picture of your flywheel housing will do it, or engine serial number in most cases.

In North America, a Delco is most commonly used on the Listers. We also have a few of the Lucas units around.

These models run about $250. Shipping depends on speed required, typical flat-rate is $45.

Gary is alive and well and as retired as he can be while still operating the engine and parts buisiness until a buyer can be located. He did drop one of his emails that is listed here but responds to GSJ@ GCI.net. I just recently purchased parts from him.
