Pushrod length?
« on: October 07, 2006, 09:40:56 PM »
Ok I am going to fab up a pushrod out of a Massey pushrod.  It's long enough to cut and braze a ball bearing to the end.  It has a cup at the top very similiar to Listers.  Can someone give me the length for the intake pushrod?  Is the intake the same as the exhaust?   I have the exaust but the intake is missing the cup.  Thanks.

What happened the old one?

The cup is missing.  I got the engine that way.  If anyone else knows the length I'd appreciate it.  I am anxious to make this one.  I'd like to get her running this weekend.  I did a forum search and came up with 15" but it doesnt say which one it is and I was pretty sure they were differnt length.  The manual shows a difference in the picture but doesnt give any length.  The intake is longer.

I measured the pushrods from my Powersolutions 6/1…
Short is 14 ¼ inch overall length.
Long is 14 ¾ inch overall length.
Depth inside of cup is 3/8 inch for both.
As always… your mileage (and pushrods) may vary…

Well I guess I could get it close and then take up the difference by adjusting the valve rocker screw.  Anyone have any other advice?
