We should all work in the shipyard where such technical goodies are just laying around for picking... I wonder how many thousands of euros worth are tied up in that one installation.

There are a lot of details to study in that video... does the original have a narrative?

Funny, as I actually do work in a shipyard.  Wouldn't say there are a lot of goodies laying around for me to pick but I have recently had a lot of opportunity to learn things like welding that would have cost me a good bit in a class.  Trying to set up a time to gain some perspective from the guys in the diesel shop.  Recently toured their facilities and it was very impressive, to say the least.

Wow, that was some setup! Amazing find to have the generator operate at such low rpm.  His monitoring gear is impressive, though the KW gauge wasn't scaled right.  Alas, not much shown on the Listeroid start/stop actuators and monitoring sensors.  I'd love to see more details.  The guy obviously knows his industrial controls.

His accent + country of origin on YouTube is also a bit of a giveaway  ;D

Interesting that he should have gone with a Listeroid rather than an original unit, but then, I don't suppose that many Listers found their way over to Germany - partly because of the war, and partly because Germany were turning out thousands (millions?) of high-quality single-banger diesels themselves (think Haatz, Deutz, and doubtless several others).
Cheers!
Ade.

I wonder what his net power production is after the draw from all the control gear.  :police:
