Thump,thump,thump

You guys weren't kidding, poured an 8'x12' slab with pedistal for my ST-1 Lister.Letting the green concrete cure but had to try it running.Right now its on a heavy frame bolted solid to the cement, you can feel it on the ground.I left enough bolt legnth to experiment with various dampening methods.Lister house almost completed, underground cable run to house.Building will be well insulated to reduce noise. Yep, they will transmit energy to the ground.  You may be able to mitigate some, but since it is ultimately bolted to the ground, I don't think tou will ever get rid of all of it.  If it bothers you, you can try a few rubber stall mats under a frame that you pour a new block of concrete into.  Basically an isolated foundation.  Still has the high mass base, but the base is isolated from the slab by the rubber stall mats.  This is what I do for my 6/1 with about a 1300# block of concrete on rubber mats.  it works pretty well at containing the thump...
PS 6/1 - ST-5.

+3  after an external weight balance job.  Did the trick, no more shaking "House of Lister".  I never would have believed it possible with 3/4" thick rubber pads and a wood frame over a slab 10" thick under the 6/1, but the building was shaking.

+4, mounted my Listeroid base on rubber vibration dampeners which are bolted to the concrete floor.
Runs smooth as butter and can't feel it in the floor.

Compliments of CUJET, came off the blades of a Euro-helicopter (I.e. $4,000 each new - used free to a good home), excellent vibration protection when combined with a slab of concrete. I suppose any large vibration isolator would work as well.

Don't we all !

What sort of substrate do you have  - dirt, gravel, 4" slab, 10" slab ?   Any mass on the frame besides the 12/1 ?  Alternator ?

I have a 6/1 & ST5 on a frame, cross bolted to 2 large I beams.  The 2 I beams are clamped at each end, with a U strap that traps the I beam, and the straps are bolted to anchor bolts drilled into a 8' x 12' slab, 12" thick, on packed gravel.
The 2 cross beams sit on a 1/4" thick, 4" wide, piece of oak flooring.  The U strap also has a oak flooring isolator so metal does not bang on metal, and metal does not bang on wood.

I'd tried a stall mat, but the beast still walked around.

The battery shed 5' away, with an identical slab, bounces right along with the 6/1 slab.  10' away in the shop, you can feel the concussion on the floor there.

Concrete is not necessary but will aid in covering up a perfect balance. These motors can be very unbalanced and with a little work and concrete can smooth them out considerably. And it can be repeated.

No concrete twice.

I assume those are your engines.
Can you explain or show pictures of how your bases
are constructed?

Still jumping
