Woof, Woof went the big dog with power plant.

I'll never forget on of my last trips to the gas station when the embargo was in full swing and the lines were about a block long.  "Listen to me lady.  My truck burns diesel.  No one has pumped diesel in an hour.  Now what is your problem with me getting a couple of cans of diesel?"  "It's not fair!" was the reply.  If she hadn't been almost 5'2" I just might have punched her.  Don't let the "idiots" give you their disease.  I had a completely different list of names for my neighbors as they waited in line.  I wanted three lines.

1.  Cheap - but you must wait an hour or more.
B.  Double - but you can get onto the pump in less than 5 minutes.
III.  Triple - our delivery vehicle will arrive at your house in less than an hour.

Market economy isn't always that easy to sell.

Glad to hear someone is making good use of a slow-speed diesel, even if it IS one of those evil Chinese fast-speed ones :police:

Your inclement weather (supercell storms + heatwave) have even made the news over here in soaking wetland aka Great Britain - or, as it should be pronounced from now on, Great Downpour.  Lots of pictures of people queuing up to buy ice to keep their food cold. Should have bought a lister(oid) folks! Good luck those of you suffering fallen trees, floods, lack of power etc.

We had our own supercell storm last week which almost wiped out Newcastle-upon-Tyne and its surroundings. It's estimated to have caused nearly £5000 of improvements.  ;D Crazy footage of drains spouting 20ft in the air, a big ornamental staircase converted into a waterfall, roads looking more like rivers, etc.

Fortunately, although I live within a mile of the sea & a large river, I'm on pretty high ground & - touch wood - we've never suffered flooding even in the worst downpours. Didn't stop me buying a Lister "just in case"  ;D
Cheers!
Ade.

Enjoy your day in the sun. If your wife is like mine, the first few outages you're a hero and then the story changes to "it would be nice to have an evening by candle light once in a while". We lived in the redwoods and wind would drop trees on the power lines often and I got real good at making my own power.
