Petter PJ injector pipe problem
« on: April 21, 2012, 10:18:17 PM »
i have a Petter PJW3, where one of the pump to injector pipes has come out of the steel "olive"  if that's what you call it, at the pump connection nut, can this be repaired, or is it a new pipe ?

I'm guessing it's crimped on ?

Replace the pipe... it is too high a pressure and small an orifice to mess with repairing.

If you take your defective pipe to an old school fuel injection reconditioner, and if they still have Hartridge nipple flaring tool, you would be advised to have a flared nipple rather than rely upon the cheaper compression fitting style of olive that you have already had experience of.

PS When I looked at this thread earlier, it had a lot more detail on it, has this thread being moderated for some reason?

I solved this problem by cutting an 1/8 " off the pipe, and reseating the olive, tapped it on with a copper hammer, blasted the pipe out with solvent ect.

Luckily the Petter pipe has a loop in it that gives a good bit of extra pipe to play with.  If this fails i will silver solder the olive on.
