Indian Alternator whatzit?
« on: May 05, 2012, 03:04:51 AM »
Attached to a crank start Petteroid engine was this allternator. Engine was part of a pump package. No book, no other details. What is it? 12V or? Do I need a regulator? Has heavy permienant magnetism and you can feel it go by the poles several times each revolution. This is all I know and the pics below. Thanks in advance.

Might be a 4 phase PMA, needs external diodes.   You will have to ohm it out, to see if the black connector is common to all.
