i think it is a lemon i got.
anyway, the knocking sound was now traced to a improper shimmed balancing shafts. this was sorted out and bearings changed. the injection was spill timed.
the engine start instantly on first kick without decompression using 2xT105 battery.
you can see her running here.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-PwSWu2xDME&feature=youtu.bewith the initial shortcoming sorted out, she is quite well behave now with little vibration across the rpm range. the twin balancing shafts helps tremendously.
so my personal conclusion is if you are looking for solid prime mover and willing to put in some time and effort in preparing it, the Chinese engine seems to be another viable option comparing to the varying quality from Rajkot.
the machining is not 1st class but it is true and centered. the casting is so so but i find no left over sand pocket. the shortcoming mainly attributed to poor assembly workmanship rather than the engine per se itself.
the real test will come this weekend when i load it up in the field.
