In a bizarre new twist, Willem has completely closed his Youtube account.

I guess that's that, then.
Cheers!

Good for him, some of that stuff did nothing to support his case - anything but. And we should be back to technical matters!

Yep.  That was around 2006, shortly after this forum opened, if I recall correctly.  Suddenly several folks registered from the same IP using different names and were puffing his products and saying what a wonderful guy he was to do business with.  Quick check using some internet utilities showed what was up.  Admin was not pleased and that conversation abruptly ended.

BTW, I see both his websites are down now, too.  I expect he's curled up somewhere licking his wounds, retooling his sites.  He'll show up eventually, but I often wondered how, in the post-EPA ban of old, dirty diesel engines, he could be offering for sale non-compliant engines.  Perhaps he finally was noticed and shut down.

I've never met Willem, but I know a couple folks who have, and am told he's a likeable enough guy.  Just someone who has a huge ego and seems to want/need affirmation and recognition which I guess he wasn't getting here.  Everyone's entitled to live the life of a Walter Mitty,** if they want to.  By the same token, everyone is also entitled to express their opinions about what someone posts on the internet.  I'll miss his videos for their sophomoric content.  I don't know whether Red Green could have done any better.  But many of them contained questionable advice and information that might cause a technical noob harm, and I think that's what bugged most people.

BTW, years ago I was also threatened by him.  I resisted the impulse to pay him a preemptive visit.

I guess that's that, then.

His last two videos were shorts of him in his car before and after he supposedly "ambushed" someone. Nothing but but him talking in the videos.

Kinda feels like he's maybe gone 'round the bend!

Boy its been a long long time fella's, i can see you all have been having way to much fun!

there is so much i would like to say about this fellow "willem" but i won't, far better to let him shoot his own foot off so to speak.

as they say, when your adversary is digging himself into a hole, for goodness sakes get out of his way!

:)

having said all that, and knowing a bit about EPA reg's and how they function i think i can safely state that there will never be an epa compliant lister/oid, chanfa/oid, petter/oid or any old style diesel engine available for sale in the US!! (not under this administration and likely not under any other administration either) it just isn't going to happen and to state otherwise is just being dishonest.

unless of course one want's to pay $50 grand for one!

carry on guys, i will try not to be gone for so long.

Steering wheel's on the wrong side, though.  Don't know how anyone can drive like that.  Doesn't look safe.

LOL - it's quite simple really. I close my eyes in the corners anyway, so it doesn't matter which side the wheel is on!

Ronmar - it's definitely a car to put a grin on your face: 480bhp @ the flywheel, live axle...
Cheers!
