crankshaft run out

Many thanks for all you responces to my oil problem.
if you all could help me a little bit more, this is to do with crankshaft run out or better known as bent chankshaft.
if i put a dial gauge on the crankshaft it run out at 40 thou, i have stripped the engine and strieghtend the crank to within 5 thou,
is this normal for this type of engine ?. also i would like to hear from any one in the uk with a twin cylinder cs . thanks
