TS3 engine stopper

Help!
We are struggling with the engine stopper on a TS3. The governor plate is pushed by the stopper rod to shut the engine down but there appears to be no positive location for the small oblong tag on the rod.
As a result the stopper works a few times and than the tag drops out of contact and the stopper fails to work.
Can anyone explain how this is supposed to operate?
We have looked at the parts drawing and nothing appears to be missing.

Please post a picture of your solenoid and linkage... that will be a lot more expedient than trying to translate the terminology.

If your solenoid is in good condition (operates full stroke and is free and consistent) then it will simply be the linkages, these are not typically very tidy but do work well as long as nothing is bent, out of adjustment, or simply missing.

The typical Woodward setup uses DC voltage to pull in the solenoid and allow the fuel rack to move into the run position... upon power disruption, the solenoid releases and is spring loaded to push the fuel rack back into its shutdown position.

Thanks for the help. We have no solenoid etc., just a pull stopper.
I don't think anything is missing as it was working ok until last week. We just can't understand how the linkage is supposed to hook up.
I will take a photo and try to work out how to post it!

OK, you can put it into the photo gallery here and link to it, or post it elsewhere and also link to that URL address. Use cut and paste with the Insert Image button above. Ade wrote up a more detailed step-by-step instruction for this and you can find it here.
