6/1 Metro at auction in NY
« on: September 30, 2011, 12:11:33 PM »
For those out east looking for an Indian engine there is a Metro brand on this auction. Complete with an older looking gen head mounted on a steel wheeled cart. Takes a bit to load but keep scrolling down to a picture of it. Looks like a darned intersting auction to me.

Unless I'm reading it wrong, the auction was yesterday.

If I was in New York...  ;)

but that is just a bit far afield from Kansas. Looks like a gold mine in old iron to me!

That's what I tried to tell my wife! She wasn't buying it though - no vision! One man's treasure - another's junk.

I was on the fence about heading over there to that sale.  it is a long way.  Finally, a requirement to attend a funeral on Saturday sealed the deal.  Might to online bid though...  Not interested in the Listeroid, other things though.

Good Luck Bob!

Keep that good old stuff out of the scrap yard! Far too much has gone to China and been melted down for rebar.

I wonder if that got posted on smokestack? Those old iron guys would kill for some of that stuff.
