Looking for Valve Grinder machine
« on: July 25, 2011, 06:04:06 AM »
Thought I'd give the forum a try.

Looking for a valve grinder or refacing machine preferably close to Ypsilanti Michigan.
Close as in a couple hours drive.

Occasional hobby use or helping out a buddy is its intended purpose.

Criteria is working condition or easily put in that condition and priced for a fellow forum member.

Faster - Better - Cheaper  You can have any two, but not all three

As Bob said. Log onto Ebay, search valve grinder, valve seat machine, etc and punch in nearest first. Be sure to pay the extra money for one with a large selection of stones, arbors and hopefully the guide knurls and reamers. It is by far cheaper than buying them after the fact when you find out you need them.

Watch craigslist in your area and just be patient.

Epay is more expensive and you usually end up also paying shipping.

You can search Craigslist in a radius around you using www.searchtempest.com

Just my $.02.

Good luck!

apogee-man is on step here, thanks for the link.

I'm not a big e-bay fan, you usually don't get to look at it in person before you buy.
There is also something to be said about looking someone in the eye during a deal and closing with a hand shake.
Price can be better in person too.

Will keep looking close to local and on trips.
