Engine Temp shutdown
« on: May 06, 2011, 01:27:50 AM »
Hi All
I'm just finishing off a TL3 engine and working on the auto shutdown sytem, it has a sensor screwed ito No 3 head which is U/S someone has fitted an air flow sensor as a replacement but I don't think this is the way to go?  The TL3 has  a belt driven fan and if the belt snaps  no air flow to operate the sensor, whats your views and where can I get a screw in sensor , about the size of an old  car oil pressure switch with 3/8 UNF thread i'm in Western Australia

The head temp sensor should still be available from your local Lister agency. Or you may order from us. Best policy on that model is to pay much attention to rebuilding that cooling system long before it fails and keeping it in top notch condition with good seals and new bearings. Of course belts must be replaced and maintained on schedule as well.
