I think the original poster of this thread ended up buying it.

You usually have to jump on the CL deals.

I've only run it for about 5 minutes so far and it seemed to have a bit of a miss at high rpm, but I think it cleared up.  I originally made this post right after seeing this unit on Craig's List.  I doubted that I would be able to buy it, but the guy called me back and I went over right away and got it.  I hadn't realized that this type of motor existed as an air cooled.  I wonder how many hours it might be capable of running.
The Army Surplus 2.5 kw alternator seems to put out power.  I simultaneously ran two skill saws, a shop vac and a couple of small bench grinders.
My wife helped paint the base frame.
Thanks.

That looks quite similar to my Ningbo Tri-Circle engine.

There's definitely a resemblence!  I wonder how many made it into this country.  This may have come through Hardy Diesel.

Yeah, Hardy Diesel still lists having parts available for Swan and Nimbo 170 series engines on the old China Diesel site.

I just stumbled upon the Flying Swan Diesel Engine Co., Ltd. website.
