« on: February 10, 2011, 05:00:26 PM »
I've been watchin and reading, for 2 /12 yrs, looking for an engine. about 2mos agofound a lister listed in a local auction, turned out to be a lister/petter air cooled LT-1. not what i wnted but i bought it any way. Then i bid at a few auctions on cs models, with no luck the pricing was too strong. then found a metro with about 4hrs on it and spent to much money, but hey i now own a listeroid 6/1. for 2 years couldnt seem to find them now i have a handle on a couple more 18/1 and a twin am waiting for more info to see if i can pick up one or the other. heavy in collecting phase and hopefully soon i'll get time to start working on them.  so thats not just a grin thats a poop eatin grin!!

Welcome to the world of cant get enough engines. Soon you will forget about eating, and the wife and kids, and the house payment and be looking for unimportant things to cast outside so the diesels can sit under cover. ;D

I have not found it too hard to locate engines but neither is it like shopping for bargain priced socks.  In todays market a diesel engine shopper best be ready to jump when oppertunity shows itself or be ready to go home empty handed. This time last year I had none, now I have 10 or so including 'roids and originals plus Chinese horizonals and could have owned 20 more. It helps that I am johney come lately into this and have no memory of $500 Listeroids. A year ago the railbirds said I paid too much when I paid $1500 for a 6/1 Metro. Wana bet on the size ofthe line if offered for $1500 today? LOL Unless something radical changes in ths country the engines like we are talking about are never going to be available to the masses for cheap again  IMO.

Good luck in your collecting

Well you need look no further than a rew forums down the list for that. Been an active topic lately. There is another site that is more or less merging with this one that contains more good info and discussion, The microcogen pages.

Punch here for link: http://www.microcogen.info/index.php?PHPSESSID=953d11b88db5c1a7e564eb620c2fc438&

PPOPPS you have come to your XANADU. Welcome to this site and we look froward to not letting you sit on the side lines. If you ever get the notion to own a real piece of engineering from the UK you can get those from here also.

You will find more information on using WMO than you could ever want to know. As a matter of fact there will be experiments from all over the world trying to see how safe it can be made to use in engines. So you might as well jump on board and chip in. 38 mentioned another site which soon this site and  http://www.microcogen.info/index.php  Will  merge to form a wealth of knowledge.

If you look under WMO you will see a couple of post. On the newer one "2nd generation" you will see an outline to help keep focused and in a forward direction. It can be easy to fall backwards at least for me unless I have a map to show me the direction to go forward.

Again glad you joined us. Mike DD

Lots of people looking for $900 Listeroids. If any are found I will take 20 and give you $200 profit on each one. Chrome push rods not required :D
